Privacy Policy

Before publication: Replace the operator and address fields, confirm providers and retention periods, and obtain legal review. This page is a practical draft and is not legal advice.

1. Who operates FoodieFeed

FoodieFeed is operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS OR INDIVIDUAL NAME], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

For privacy questions or requests, contact foodie.feed01@gmail.com.

2. What FoodieFeed does

FoodieFeed is a social food-discovery service. Depending on how you use it, you can create a profile, share food posts and photographs, tag restaurants and takeaways, search for nearby venues, comment, like, rate, save posts to Favorites, block accounts, report content, contact support, and view sponsored advertising.

3. Information we collect

Account and sign-in information

We may collect your name, email address, password credentials in protected hash form, sign-in method, email-verification status, profile biography, avatar image, account role, linked OAuth provider identifier, and account timestamps. We do not store your plain-text password. OAuth providers may send us a provider account identifier, name, and email address.

Content and activity

We collect information you choose to submit, including profile information, avatar images, post titles, captions, photographs, venue tags, comments, ratings, likes, saved-post choices, reports, blocks, problem reports, support messages, and business advertising campaign information. Published content may be visible to other users and copied or shared outside the Service.

Location and search information

With your permission, FoodieFeed may access device location while you use a location feature. We use this for nearby venue discovery, radius-based search, restaurant and takeaway tagging, and location-aware feed features. FoodieFeed is designed to use foreground location and does not require continuous background location for its core service. We may process search terms, radius values, approximate location parameters, and venue information needed to return results.

Advertising information

FoodieFeed may display sponsored cards. We may process advertiser name, campaign text, dates, images, destination URLs, call-to-action labels, campaign status, impressions, and clicks. We do not currently describe this as interest-based advertising unless a separate advertising SDK is enabled and disclosed.

Technical, security, and support information

We may process session and authentication tokens, OAuth state records, password-reset and email-verification records, request identifiers, IP address or approximate network information, device and browser information, timestamps, error information, rate-limit events, and security logs.

4. How we use information

5. Legal bases

Where required, we generally rely on performance of a requested service, your permission for device location and optional access, legitimate interests in security and service operation, legal obligations, and consent for optional marketing.

6. Sharing and service providers

We may share information with other users when you publish content; hosting, database, storage, authentication, security, and support providers; OAuth providers you choose; email providers; map and venue-data providers; advertisers as configured for sponsored campaigns; authorities where legally necessary; and a successor organisation if FoodieFeed is transferred. We do not sell personal information for money.

7. International processing

FoodieFeed and its providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent lawful safeguards.

Processing locations and safeguards: [CONFIRM PROCESSING LOCATIONS AND TRANSFER SAFEGUARDS BEFORE PUBLICATION]

8. Retention and account deletion

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. FoodieFeed provides permanent account deletion designed to remove or de-identify profile data, posts, comments, ratings, likes, saved posts, reports, blocks, authentication tokens, and linked providers.

Some information may be retained for legal obligations, fraud or abuse prevention, safety, dispute resolution, security records, or backups. Retained information is access-controlled and deleted or anonymised when the applicable reason ends.

Retention and backup-deletion periods: 90 days for ordinary backups after an approved deletion request

How to delete your account

  1. In the app, open Profile → Settings → Delete account and follow the confirmation steps.
  2. If you cannot access the app, email foodie.feed01@gmail.com with the subject FoodieFeed Account Deletion Request and the account email address. Do not send your password.

We may ask for reasonable verification before processing a request and will not ask for passwords or payment-card details by email.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, email foodie.feed01@gmail.com with the subject FoodieFeed Privacy Request.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including password hashing, session controls, expiring email tokens, OAuth state and replay protection, access controls, upload validation, rate limits, and structured security logging. No internet service is completely secure.

11. Children

FoodieFeed is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children below the applicable minimum age. Contact foodie.feed01@gmail.com if you believe a child has provided information.

12. Third-party services and changes

FoodieFeed may link to or use restaurants, advertisers, OAuth providers, email providers, hosting/storage providers, and map or venue-data providers. Their privacy practices are controlled by them. We may update this policy when the Service, law, or processing changes and will post a new version with an updated date.
